TURKISH DELEGATION VISITS UNITED KINGDOM

The Business visit to England between 11-15 September 2007 by the delegation of The Jockey Club of Turkey was very successful.  During the International Agri –Technology Center (IATC) organized visit, leading equine institutions and facilities were inspected. Having bilateral information exchanges, our board sought the possibilities of cooperations in future.

The Board members Mr. Osman ÇIKILLI and Mrs. Esra ATMAN OZYIGIT; Assistant General Managers Messrs Tuncel AYDIN and Mustafa ÇELEBİ; Veliefendi Racecourse Manager Mr Sabahattin KATAN and International Affairs Manager Mr. Burak KONUK represented our Club during the visit.  Our delegation inspected also the facilities of the Animal health Trust, which is regarded as the world authority in its field, and exchanged information about the latest technology, equine health and other matters.

On the opening Day of St. Leger Festival, which includes the   St. Leger Stakes, the last leg of British Triple Crown, Turkish delegation which included Mr Mehmed Mehdi EKER, The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Mr. Yasin K. EKİNCİ, President of the Jockey Club of Turkey and journalist Mr. Ergun BABAHAN  as well, visited the Doncaster Recourse and had a meeting with Her Highness Princess Ann, the daughter of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II. The Princess, who is well known also with her love for horses and riding abilities, asked questions about racing and breeding in Turkey and the Purebred Arabian Horses.

The British Jockey Club gave a honorary dinner at its historic facilities for our delegation.
