The quarantine period for “Victory Gallop”, the third stallion that the Jockey Club of Turkey bought from the US for the stallion team, still continues.

The quarantine period for the stallion, whose blood test results turned out to be positive, will end at the first week of February. Victory Gallop, born in 1995, is expected to be in Turkey before the breeding season to join the stud farm.  

Racing career and successful offspring

Victory Gallop ran a total of 17 races in his 2nd, 3rd and 4th years and showed high performance in all his years: he won 3 races out of 5 while he was 2 years old, 3 races out of 8 when he was 3, and 3 races out of 4 when he was 4. At the age of 2, the races he won were Chenery Stakes and New Kent Stakes, both category races; at the age of 3, he was beaten by Real Quiet both at the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes; however by passing Real Quiet at Belmont Stakes, thus not allowing him to make Triple Crown.  At the age of 3, the winner of Arkansas Derby and Rebel, the thoroughbred came second in G1 category races such as Travers Stakes and Haskell Invitational Handicap.

At the age of 4, it was desired to add a huge success in his racing career instead of being just a sire; however became 3rd at the Dubai World Cup, after thoroughbred Almutawakel and Malek. The races that he ran at the age of 4, Victory Gallop became 1st  in G1 Whitney Handicap and G2 Stephen Foster Handicap and an Allowance race and at the end of his career, he had nine 1st places, five 2nd places and one 3rd place thus earning a total of 3.505.895 $.

Victory Gallop, who is 1.62m high, had offspring that won important amounts of prize money in different countries and won group races. The statistics that made him that successful lies in the percentage of run-win ratio. The first generation of the stallion was born in 2001 and 83 of his offspring have reached the age of racing. 72 out of 83 ran races and 61 were successful in winning races: this ratio equals to 84.7%, which is very impressive.   The 2002 generation numbers are 55 offspring, 49 out of 55 running and 37 winning, which equals to 75.5%. In 2003 generation, 48 out of 57 off-springs ran and 39 won races, which equals to 81.2%. Our new stallion had over 80 off-springs in 2004 and 2005 and the running and winning offspring numbers are as follows by the end of 2007: 74 and 32 and the winning offspring numbers are 42 and 11, consecutively.

The number of offspring of this stallion at the age of two that won races is seen as 11, 11, 8, 11 and 11 during the consecutive years. 20% of his running offspring won 2-year races. A total of 23 off-spring of the stallion were successful in stakes.  In 2007, the off-springs of the stallion became first in following races: EISHIN DOVER (6y, Kris S.) in Keio Hai Spring Cup (JPN-G2) and in Hankyu Hai (JPN-G3); KETTLEONEUP (5y Storm Cat) in Falls City H. (USA-G2) and in Sixty Sails H. (USA-G3); and ANAK NAKAL (3y Quiet American) in Kentucky Jockey Club S. (USA-G2). Furthermore, EISHIN LOMBARD (6y Carson City), running in Japan, became 1st in Tokyo Chunichi Sports Hai Musashino S. (JPN-G3); and SIR GALLOVIC, another one his offspring, (4y Skywalker) became 1st in BC Premiers H. (CAN-G3) in Canada. TEXAS FEVER (3y Forty Niner) in Kentucky Cup Juvenile S. (G3), SWINGIT and GALLON were the other off-springs of the stallion winning stakes in 2007.
