We Lost Champion Turbo

We lost Turbo, the champion Purebred Arabian who left its mark to Turkish racing, on Monday, 19 April due to heart attack.

Turbo was bred by and raced on behalf of Düzarat Stables, and owned by TİGEM Anatolia Agricultural Enterprises. Born in 2005, Turbo (Rikardo – Gülbanaz / Özüşan) started its successful career in 2008 at Ankara 75. Yıl Racecourse.

7 G1 Victories During His Racing Career 

Turbo, raced against the successful Purebred Arabians of his time and won G1 Çanakkale Zaferi and G1 Hatay Stakes in 2008, G1 TBMM, G1 İstiklal Savaşı, G1 Niğbolu and G1 Malazgirt Trophy in 2009 and G1 TBMM Stakes in 2010. Turbo won the the G1 International Malazgirt Trophy of 2009 by leaving behind No Risk Al Maury and General, the 2 times winner of G1 Arabian World Cup, which is one of the most important races for Purebred Arabians in the world.

Turbo, who started in 31 races, won 7 G1, 7 G2 and 7 G3 races.

His Career At Stud

Turbo’s career at stud started in 2011. 360 of his offsprings won 255 races and his representatives won 1128 of 8440 races. Turbo is the second Purebred Arabian Stallion having the progenies with most earnings. Diliran, Düşlem, Gürsu, Falez ve Madrabaz ile Grup koşu galipleri Kardeşcan, Mega Star, Kadhan, Demirturbo, Oğlum Serkan, Varlıklı, Budakhan, Eymenege, Adını Sen Koy and Gümüşkesen can be listed among Turbo’s most successful G1 winning progenies.

Having a dazzling career both at the races and stud, the champion Purebred Arabian Turbo passed away at the age of 16.
