Sabırlı won in Dubai  

 

At the Nad Al Sheba Racecourse, “DNRD Cup”  “Sabırlı”, who was ridden by Halis Karataş, won the race with 1.37.84 time at the second start.

At the DNRD Cup Stakes on 1600m.turf, where Northern Hemisphere bred 4 year old and up and Southern Hemisphere bred 3 year old and up 9 horses rated 95-110 participated, the  Argentinean horse Blue On Blues was  placed second, Irish horse Elliots World placed third and South African horse Key Of Destiny was placed as the  fourth. The favorite of the race Desert Destiny, ridden by world wide famous jockey L.Dettori was unplaced.

The total purse of the race was $120.000 and Sabırlı earned its $ 78.000 as the winner’s prizemoney thanks to his strong sprints at the last stretch. With this win, Sabırlı became our second horse to win in Dubai this year.

Sabırlı, who chose this race to raise his handicap rate in order to be able to participate in World Cup on 25th of March, represented our country very well and came closer to his goal.

 

After the race the President of the Jockey Club of Turkey Umur Tamer said: ‘‘This is the third winning in Dubai. Another big success accomplished by our own efforts. I hope that these achievements will continue.  The importance of the horsemanship for the Turkish people once again was proved. We are writing legends at the international platform. After this point, I am asking and waiting for the support from my state and my government.”

 

 

 

 

The permanent member of the Jockey Club of Turkey N.Can Güven said: “The tempo of the race was not as we have expected. Halis says it was not easy but I believe that we won easily. In the near future, we will win more races. Turkish horses and Turkish jockeys once again showed us how good they are.  I watch the races in Europe both at the racecourse and on TV. We are on the good way and will be better. I am proud of this winning. Turkish owners should come here without fear.

Selçuk San who took the award after the race said: ‘‘ We were hopeful before the race. We came here from far places.  Winning the race is a big moral for us and our horse. We will contest in mighty groups again in order to raise our point. Our aim is to compete in Dubai World Cup. This winning may be good for the Turkish Horsemanship.

Sabırlı ran his first race in Dubai on 19th of January  at United Emirates- Dubai Nad Al Sheba Racecourse on 1500 meters turf track at  “Shadwell Farm” . In this race our Thoroughbred was ridden by Irish jockey Jamie Spencer and became the fifth unfortunately.
